Across south east London Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG) are working towards authorisation under the Health and Social Care Act 2012 and are looking to appoint local Lay Members in Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark
Lay Members will share responsibility to ensure the CCG exercises its functions effectively, efficiently and economically, with good governance and in accordance with the constitution agreed by its members.
These exciting new roles will ensure that the voice of the local population is heard, Lay Members will use their skills to ensure that the public/patients expectations are understood and are met. You may be asked to fulfil the role of Deputy Chair or Chair of the Governing Body
Preference will be given to applicants who live in or have strong connections to the borough for which they are applying for but we will also accept applications from people living in the surrounding areas if they have relevant experience
Lay Members will be expected to be available for approximately 2 1/2 days per month, the audit chair will be expected to be available 3 to 4 days per month both will include some evening engagements. The remuneration for the Lay Member posts will be set by the individual CCG but will be circa £7k pa (circa £13k for audit chair) which is in line with the guidelines for Non Executives of NHS bodies.

The closing date for applications is 5pm on Wednesday 20 June and interviews will take place on Tuesday 3, Thursday 5 and Friday 6 July.
