Majority of councils not paying enough for care

A BBC investigation has revealed that the majority of councils are not paying enough for care, risking a lower quality of care provision.

The UK Homecare Association wants carers to be paid a minimum of £15.19 an hour, to cover wages, training and travel. However, the average is £12.26 an hour which they say is an amount with which it is impossible to provide quality care.
