Open auditions for new production at the Old Vic

The Old Vic are looking for passionate, enthusiastic and talented members of the community to volunteer as performers and backstage crew in The Old Vic Community Company’s first production, Housed by David Watson. This specially commissioned play explores the London housing crisis inspired by the views of 200 Londoners gained during research last year.

They want you to audition to be a part of this ambitious new production. No previous experience is necessary and auditions are open to anyone aged 16 to 160. You can find out all the information you need, download an application form and book your audition slot at

Time: You can book slots of 90 minutes at various times each day.  Click on the dates above for more detail.

Please select the date and time of your preferred slot very carefully, as it may not be possible to change it. We ask you to arrive 15 minutes before the start of your audition to register, and bring a completed performer application form with you.

The audition will be a fast-paced group workshop that will give you the chance to work with other people, improvise a scene and read some lines from a text. There is no need to prepare anything in advance, just be ready to give it your all.
